Chad took his first business trip this week; both girls were so happy to see him when he returned
2 weeks after we moved in to our house we had our first visitor! Earl has accepted a new job and the headquarters are located just an hour from us, so hopefully we will be able to see quite a bit of him. He stopped by for the weekend and we all enjoyed his company. Riley loves playing with him and he was able to keep her entertained while Chad made some improvements to the ceiling fan in her room. She likes to "help" Daddy with projects so sometimes it is hard to distract her; Earl had no problems keeping her out of the way. Chad and I always enjoy Earl's company. He brought movies and stories and it was a great weekend.
Chad will have to travel a bit more often for his new position and his first trip was this week to Georgia Pacific's headquarters in Atlanta. While he was gone the girls and I kept busy playing outside and finding fun places in town. My friend in CA, Jessica Vandeleest, grew up in nearby Green Bay and put me in touch with her friend, Erin, who lives in Neenah. Erin has been a great resource, inviting me to gatherings, telling me about kid-friendly places, introducing me to other moms and answering a lot of questions. She's an incredibly nice person and I'm so happy to have a friend in town. Her sons are 4 and 1, so the kids like to play, too. I feel very lucky to have this connection from the very beginning.
