Aug. 18, 2011 - Summer is winding down

Riley and Kaiden playing in the sand

While outside doing Saturday morning "chores" Riley decided it was time to reorganize Daddy's toolbox

She liked to examine each component before returning it to the box

Relaxin' in her chair

Riley sitting on the porch of the Patterson House at Ardenwood Farm. With its fancy roof she thinks its a castle.

Balancing on bales of hay

Later in the week, Riley felt it was time to reorganize Daddy's grilling cabinet

As I took that previous picture, I should have seen where it was leading...notice that one foot is completely black from the charcoal dust

Parachute play at our final library "Learn and Play" hour

Riding a pony at the Hayward Street fair. Riley really loves pony rides, strangers came up to us and said she is the happiest little girl they've ever seen on a horse. Should Chad and I be saving up for riding lessons?

Our family is enjoying the last few weeks of summer before preschool starts in the beginning of Sept. This week we played and picnicked at Ardenwood farm, met some friends at the park and went to the Hayward Street party. We also had our last library hour. We've been doing "Learn and Play" since before Riley turned 1 and it has been a wonderful experience that we both really treasured. I'm so glad we found such a fun activity and will definitely miss it.
