Happy 1st Thanksgiving!!!

Riley has had a busy week! We joined a playgroup that meets on Fridays, so she got to play with her friends Friday morning. The kids are around the same age and really like to study each other and copy one another. Its very cute to watch several 9-12 month olds play with the same toy. They don't fight or hit (yet) although Riley really likes to pull on pigtails. Sorry Selina!

Friday night we met Riley's newest little playmate, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Vahlsing, who was born on Tueday. She's a beautiful girl and the whole family is doing great.

Saturday Grandma Cathy and Aunt Amy arrived for their annual Thanksgiving week visit. After a few hours of uncertainty Riley is loving their attention! Grandma Cathy reads and plays on the floor with Riley while Aunt Amy sings and teaches her to belly dance. She is having a blast!

Mommy and Daddy are having fun, too. On Sunday we went to the Raiders-Bengals game in which the Raiders pulled off a huge upset. Tuesday night we had an excellent dinner in San Francisco and saw the musical "Wicked," which was amazing. We love having live-in babysitters!

The big development of the week is that Riley is crawling. Not very well yet, but definitely crawling. She's been getting up on all 4s for a few weeks, but this week has spent a lot more time off her belly and eventually the pushing back and forth became movement. She's not well coordinated, but I'm sure that will come quickly.

Thursday we spent a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and our friends Henry & Jessica and Fred & Mary. We had fantastic food and drinks and enjoyed the company. What a great holiday!

We are thankful for all our family and friends. We miss those who are far away and hope to visit with you soon!
