28 weeks

I'm 28 weeks old!

Running ahead before Chad throws the ball...can life get any better for a dog?

Oh Seamus, don't drink the ocean.

It was wonderful to feel my feet in the sand

How many babies get to eat dinner oceanside?

She's a very eager eater and has definitely mastered the open mouth-stick out tongue action

Check out this grass!

We were treated to spectacular views

We are having a wonderful week of vacation! Our weekend started hanging out with Joe (Jen's friend from high school who now lives in southern CA) Stephanie (his girlfriend) and Aza (his yellow lab). We spent the weekend playing games, going on hikes, and catching up. Always great to see them!

Then we headed down to Cambria, CA, which is about 3.5 hours south of the bay area and near the famous Hearst Castle. We stayed in a dog friendly hotel right on the beach. We walked along the ocean, looked at the shops in Cambria (there is an amazing gourmet kitchen shop that I could spend HOURS browsing) and watched the sun set over the ocean. Riley enjoyed playing in the grass while we relaxed and watched the water. She also LOVED watching and listening to the waves; as we walked she couldn't get enough of them...until they lulled her to sleep of course. Seamus may have had the best time of us all. Chasing a ball in the sand and running along the water exhausted him. Chad and I just enjoyed being away...we definitely a needed break!

Riley had her 6 month check up last week. She's very healthy and impressed our pediatrician with her "beautiful, flawless skin." She weighed in at 15 lbs 7.5 oz (50th percentile) and measured 26.5 in (75 percentile). She is doing great with solids and has enjoyed everything we've fed her so far. What a healthy, happy baby!
