Oct. 17, 2013 - Door County

Map in hand, Riley leads us to the lake

She found it!

Mommy and Riley at an old lighthouse

The fall colors surrounding Lake Michigan were just beautiful

We loved the views

We biked all over to different stops and vista points

What a great location for lunch

The trails were gorgeous

Beautiful colors

The girls really enjoyed the trails and hung out in the chariot for the long ride

It was windy on top of Eagle Tower

But the views were spectacular

Riley has been asking daily when there would be enough leaves to make a pile

She loves playing in them

And teaching Miceala how to have fun

Micaela agrees, playing in leaves is the BEST

We had some beautiful fall weather and have taken full advantage by spending as much time as possible outside. We finally made a trip to Wisconsin's famous Door County and it was all we'd been promised. We went in mid-October when the leaves were changing and the colors were breathtaking. We went to Pennisula State Park and spent hours biking around on the trails, stopping to walk around, take in the sights and play. We enjoyed a picnic right on Lake Michigan and ended our day taking in the panoramic views on top of Eagle Tower.

Fall has also brought falling leaves, which Riley has really been anticipating. She loved running around with the leaves, jumping into the pile then throwing them all over. Micaela watched from a distance for a while, looking confused, then joined in the fun. I love seeing the girls experience such joy over simple things.
