Thurs. July 12, 2012 - first baseball game!

 Micaela is 32 weeks old!

Uncle Earl came for a visit over the holiday weekend

Micaela loved that he came down to the floor - her favorite place

 Everyone loves Earl

It took 13 hours but Chad smoked an amazing brisket

Riley liked climbing to the top of her own personal tower

My little pastry chef helped make a delicious and decorative cherry pie

Micaela loves to play with Daddy

On Saturday we went to a Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (minor league) game, the girls' first baseball game

We sat on the grass, great seats!

As expected, Riley spent most of her time on the playstructure (that's her on the swing with Daddy)

It was Princess night, which added to the success of the outing

 And they had fireworks!

 Fascinated spectators

 Micaela loves blueberries

All 10 of our chrysalids hatched so after a few days in the butterfly habitat we released them

 Goodbye butterflies!

They were very pretty and some stuck around for a little while

Riley is such a good big sister, giving her little sis a ride on the firetruck

Another week full of firsts in Wisconsin. Earl came to visit (well, that's not a first) and we had a lot of fun with him as always. The girls absolutely love playing with him and he brings awesome movies to entertain Chad and I after the kids go to bed, so everyone is happy. On Saturday morning we all went to the farmer's market: the boys and kids in the truck and me on my roadbike. Chad has spent a lot of evenings getting both of my bikes rideable again. I stopped riding when I became pregnant with Riley and haven't had the chance to ride since. I enjoy pulling Riley in the trailer on my mountain bike but it was great to ride my road bike without a trailer, much faster!

Saturday night we went to a Wisconsin Timber Rattlers baseball game. They are the minor league team associated with the Milwaukee Brewers and its great that they are right here in Appleton. Its a small stadium that has many family-oriented amenities. Micaela napped through most of the game and Riley spent a lot of her time playing with other kids on the play structure. Plus it was Princess night, so she was thrilled to say "Hi" to some of the Disney Princesses. In between innings, they had Princess related games (like a father-daughter relay race to dress the dad like a princess). I cannot WAIT until Chad can do this with our girls, he'll look great in a dress and tiara!

There were fireworks after the game, the first time both girls have seen fireworks. I wasn't sure how they would do but it went well. Neither girl was afraid of the noise and Micaela really enjoyed watching them; she's very into lights right now. Riley liked them at first but after a while started covering her eyes. To me, no tears means success.

  1. Chad did say he's happy Riley is into princesses! I'm sure he's looking forward to wear the dress & tiara! :)
