Sept. 23, 2011 - IL visit part II

Storytime with Great Grandma Jean

Putting together her first puzzle with Grandma Shelley

Riley enjoyed taking the dogs for a walk around the pond.

A kitty cat tail!

Mommy, Grandpa, Riley and Great Grandma

Goin' fishin' with Grandpa

They caught one!

A sunfish!

Riley was very excited...

...and not at all afraid to touch the fish.

Mommy even reeled in a bass. I can't believe the little pole could handle it.

Honestly, Riley was much more interested in the worms than in the fish

During our trip we got a reminder of the crazy IL weather. After a few days of hot (90's) and humid weather it cooled down drastically. It is really difficult to pack for such extremes!

Riley had a great time at Grandpa Charlie's. She loved exploring all the outdoor space, taking the dogs for walks around the pond and picking "kitty" cat tails. One morning they went fishing with her little sponge bob square pants pole. The pond is well stocked and, with Grandpa's help, Riley caught several fish right away. However, she lost interest in the fish and wanted to play with the worms. She even chose a favorite one and carried it around for a while. You just never know what a toddler will do!
