Happy Valentine's Day!

What is this stuff on my hands?

What artistry!

Wow, look at these cookies!

I helped her frost them with a spoon and it started out really well

But as soon as she got a taste of that icing she was done decorating cookies.

Riley loves playing in the refrigerator

I don't understand this, but her favorite item from the fridge is lemon juice.

February is a busy month for us! After all the birthday parties the Valentine's Day festivities began. Riley gave fingerpainting a try for the first time, creating valentines for her grandparents. At first she enjoyed feeling the paint on her hands and fingers and watching the marks her hands left on the paper. But she was only interested for a few minutes and then wanted to eat the paint, so craft time was over.

We also made heart-shaped cookies and iced them (just to clarify, we didn't do this all on one day). Again, she loved feeling the dough in her hands but was much more exciting about putting icing in her mouth than on the cookies. We have a lot of fun doing little things like this.

We've had beautiful weather out here in CA and went on a nice morning hike through a local redwoods park on Sunday. We had a fantastic weekend and hope you all did, too!
