This week we took a trip to Downieville, CA, one of Daddy's favorite mountain biking meccas in the northern Sierra Nevada mountains. We've camped here many times, but this trip we stayed in a great bed and breakfast. We love camping, but it was pretty nice to just relax in our room after the drive (rather than setting up camp), swim in the pool, and have breakfast made for us each morning.

We did a family hike on Saturday. We drove to up a mountain then hiked down to Deer Lake. The weather was perfect and the scenery was gorgeous. Riley "hiked" attached to Mommy in the front carrier and seemed to enjoy the ride. She slept on the way down, played and ate at the lake, then napped again on the way up. What a deal! Seamus ran like crazy, chasing squirrels and leaves and anything else that moved. We were so happy to get out and enjoy the mountains as a family.

The next day Chad biked with our friend Jim while Mommy, baby, and dog hung out in town. Its a laid-back, quiet little town that makes it so easy to relax. We had a great weekend and were glad to share another of our favorite places with our daughter.
