Fun family night at the baseball game
This week we had a visit from Chad's brother Darren and his wife Rebekah and sons Dylan, Garrett and Dyson. The girls loved playing with the older boys who were very sweet to all their younger cousins. We had a great time catching up with them all and hope we can see them again soon.
One day during their visit Seamus slipped out without his collar and ran off. Honestly I'm surprised it hasn't happened before. We realized he was gone when pieces of Chad's delicious pulled pork that had been tossed by the twins were still on the floor when we finished dinner. Chad and Darren looked around the neighborhood and with the help of our wonderful neighbors realized that he was at the shelter. He ran one street over and a few houses down. Some kind neighbors took him in, gave him treats and asked around for the owners but of course he had no ID without his collar so they eventually called to have him picked up. By the time we located him the Humane Society was closed so he spent the night in doggie jail until we bailed him out the next morning. He was very happy to see Chad and the girls when they picked him up and he is NEVER without his collar now.
Now that its August our activities are winding down and we are enjoying lots of play time. Georgia Pacific had an employee night at the ballpark so we all went to see the Timber Rattlers, our local minor league team. It was the boys' first baseball game and we all had a great time. Its a fantastic family atmosphere with crazy contests and things to watch between innings, a huge play area and of course a baseball game. But I think the girls favorite part might have been rolling down the big hill. The season is almost over but I hope this is something we do a lot more often in the future.
Logan and Tristan have been sleeping very badly lately (they are both getting their 4 upper teeth) and after waking every 2 hours on Friday night they were up by 6 am on Saturday morning. The girls actually slept past 7 am, very rare for them, so Chad and I had almost 2 hours to drink coffee and play with the boys. At some point Chad said, “This has been such a relaxing morning.” I think that is a good indication of our lives right now, when taking care of 2-11 month olds after a poor night of sleep feels relaxing!

I'm jealous of your garden. Ours is pretty crappy this year. My eggplants are not bigger than the size of my thumb!!
