Thurs. July 2, 2015 - staycation

 Tristan is 43 weeks old!

 Logan is 43 weeks old!

These boys are pulling up and climbing on everything

Strawberry picking

 Strawberry eating!

All this little opportunist needed was 30 seconds and a forgotten child lock on the cabinet

I made good use of those fresh strawberries

The girls and I made a delicious strawberry rhubarb pie

The boys helped by pulling all the ingredients out of the cabinet

Just when I thought I couldn't love the Appleton Farmer's Market any more, one Saturday there was a giant blow up brain in the plaza

You could even walk though and see the limbic system

 Tristan loves his Seamus

Daddy took his girls camping at nearby High Cliff State park

The boys and I joined them for dinner

These new chairs are fantastic

Our friends Sophie and Craig joined us for a few hours of playtime after dinner

 Hide-and-go-seek

Micaela and Sophie counting

 chasing Riley

 We came back for breakfast

The girls had a great night in the tent with Daddy and were all cuddled up eating the cinnamon rolls he made for breakfast

The tent is a great child containment system

Later that week Daddy smoked some amazing ribs; like everyone else the boys enjoy his BBQ

The idea of packing up our family of 6, traveling, keeping the crazy crawling boys safe in an un-childproofed hotel or house, keeping the girls entertained and getting everyone at least a little sleep seemed, well, not like a vacation. So Chad took a week off and we spent time exploring things we never have a chance to do in our own backyard. We went strawberry picking, Chad took the girls camping, we even saw a movie, "Inside Out" or as we like to call it, the Riley movie since the main character is a little blue eyed blond girl named Riley. It was nice to have a week to enjoy our home and some time together. With this crew its never relaxing but it was a good time for us to bond as a family.
