This week we went to a birthday party in which Riley was the youngest partier and only girl. She really held her own against all those boys. The other moms were very impressed that she would not give up her trucks when the boys tried to take them. At one point she was driving a car (Flintstones style, where you move it with your feet). Another boy jumped in beside her but she would not give up the wheel, she made him ride passenger.

Riley really likes to snuggle right now. She loves sitting close to us or in our laps and insists on cuddling under a blanket. Its so sweet, I love when she is content and says, "I'm so snuggled!"

She has also started correcting our behavior. Tonight I said, "That sucks" at dinner, which we discourage her from saying; we want her to be a sweet girl and not say things like that. She immediately corrected me with "Mommy don't say 'that sucks.'" Of course, she corrected me again and again and again. Guess we really better be on our best behavior.

On Sunday we had dinner with my very good friend Claudia, her husband Martin and son Matthias. At the end of the month they are moving to Baltimore where she has earned a prestigious fellowship in Ophthalmology at Johns Hopkins. We are so happy for them but sad to see them go so far away. The good thing is, we'll have a chance to visit often when we go to see Amy in D.C. Good luck to them!!!
