The first few days at home

Yay, out of those hospital clothes!

Saturday, February 7; 2 days old.  We'll take pictures next to this bear every week to compare her growth.

Hi Lisa!

Claudia and Martin...I don't know about these two.

After a short stay at the hospital (both Riley and Mom checked out very healthy) we took Riley home.  She LOVED the car ride and slept the entire way home and then slept some more.  It was great to get her home to all the things we'd prepared for her arrival.  All the months of waiting and anticipation and she was finally home, it was wonderful. On Sunday, after a night to settle in, our friends Lisa and Steve, who had picked up Seamus when we left for the hospital, brought him home and he met Riley.  He is very very curious and can't take his eyes from her (see the family picture).  He gets upset when she cries (don't we all!) and doesn't seem to know quite what to do (but neither do we!).  

Our first few days have been great.  Chad is taking paternity leave for a few weeks and we trade off sleeping, so we're both getting rest.  Riley is eating like crazy; we've already had our first pediatrician visit and her weight looks great.  One of her special skills is to poop in a clean diaper, I can't believe how many diapers we've gone through!

Things are going really well.  We love her so much and are having a great time with our new baby.
