Micaela as Scooby Doo at her preschool costume parade
Tackle big sister Riley!
Everyone watches as Daddy starts cutting open pumpkins
Logan kept trying to eat pumpkin seeds
Tristan was more interested in taking out the guts
Per Riley's request, I carved her a Darth Vader
Our Star Wars jack-o-lanterns
The girls drew faces on their jack-o-lanterns (Riley's is on the left, Micaela's on the right)
Darth Vader and Scooby Doo are off to trick-or-treat (Riley couldn't see very well out of the mask that came with the costume so we talked her into a ski mask instead
Its really hard to get this crew to stay still for a picture
The Evil Emperor and Master Jedi Yoda
"What is thy bidding my master?"
We had a wonderful Halloween this year. Gutting pumpkins for jack-o-lanterns was a whole-family affair. Riley did an excellent job cleaning hers out. Micaela and Tristan both liked to help and Logan just wanted to eat the seeds. Both of the girls drew patterns on their pumpkins and Daddy carved them, then I carved a few Star Wars themed jack-o-lanterns.
Riley and Micaela both had fun choosing their costumes. Riley told us weeks before we went shopping that she wanted to be Darth Vader and she never changed her mind. I'd already chosen Yoda and Emperor for the twins and Micaela thought she wanted to be Princess Leia so we had quite a group. But once we went to the costume store Micaela decided to be Scooby Doo instead, and she was an adorable dog, with a bonus that the costume was nice and warm.
Micaela had a fun costume parade and party with her preschool class. Riley attended a Halloween party with her Daisy Scout troop, too. I took the girls trick-or-treating all over the neighborhood while Daddy and the boys stayed home and passed out candy. I've always loved Halloween and it makes me so happy to see the kids enjoy it so much, too.
